Words from our community

I support the Houston Public Library because it serves all Houstonians and helps open doors that otherwise would remain closed. Teaching children to expand their horizons; assisting people in securing jobs; preserving our common history are all critical to the Houston community.

Impact Reports

Each and every day, Houstonians from all walks of life make use of Houston Public Library, fulfilling its most basic mission: that any member of our community can walk through the library’s doors and seek to better themselves and those around them.

The events and programs put on by the team at Houston Public Library are made possible through private support. In other words, they are only made possible by YOUR generosity.

Because of what YOU make possible, HPL remains a place for young readers and their families, a place for job seekers and business builders, for creators and innovators, and for those who want to seek out and preserve our shared history.

Houston Public Library isn’t just a place where stories are preserved. It’s where they are written.
