The Prologue Society is a community of Houston’s culturally engaged and civically minded young professionals (ages 22-40) who believe in the power of libraries to strengthen our city. As champions of the Houston Public Library, members connect with one another through unique cultural experiences, exclusive programs, and opportunities to support one of Houston’s most vital public institutions. Together, we celebrate ideas, foster civic leadership, and ensure that the library remains a dynamic resource for generations to come.

The “Prologue Society” derives its name from the prologue at the front of a book, which sets the stage for things to come. As young professionals build their lives and careers, involvement with the Prologue Society establishes members as those in the Houston community who are committed to literacy, education, culture, and civic engagement.
